Charles Town Cancels Live Racing for Jan. 28

The temperature is expected to fall yet again, with a wind-chill factor.

With another cold blast of air settling in from the north, Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races has canceled its live racing program for the evening of Jan. 28.

Forecasts call for a high temperature of 19 degrees with a low temperature of 8 degrees with a wind chill. The temperature is supposed to moderate only slightly for Jan. 29, when the next live racing program at the West Virginia track is scheduled.

Charles Town remains open for full-card simulcasts.

It's the ninth time live racing has been canceled in January at Charles Town. Overall, 28 live racing programs at various tracks have been canceled in January because of the weather or track conditions, according to Equibase.
