Cactus Ridge to Stand in Oklahoma

Grade III winner will stand for $5,000 at Royal Vista Ranches.

Former Central Kentucky stallion Cactus Ridge will stand the 2014 season at Royal Vista Ranches in Wayne, Okla., for a fee of $5,000 with special consideration to Quarter Horse mares.

Sire of Canadian champion sprinter Hollywood Hit and grade I winner Hot Cha Cha, Cactus Ridge boasts 20 stakes winners in his nine crops of racing age. The 13-year-old son of Hennessy was bred and campaigned by Toby Keith's Dream Walkin' Farms.

"We are very excited to have this outstanding Thoroughbred stallion join our roster for the upcoming breeding season," said Laura Wipf-Erickson, Royal Vista Ranches farm manger. "He has sired a sprint champion and his connection to leading Quarter Horses through his sire should make him a great out-cross."

On the track Cactus Ridge won all four of his starts, all at 2, including the 2003 Arlington-Washington Futurity. He's a full brother to stakes winner Sebastian County and half brother to stakes winner Harriett Lane.
