Horse Racing Radio Network will launch its "Road to the Kentucky Derby" series this Saturday, Feb. 22, with a live broadcast from Gulfstream Park.
Showcasing live coverage of Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) prep races included in the Kentucky Derby Championship Series, the program will feature the Besilu Stables Fountain of Youth (gr. II) and the Risen Star Stakes (gr. II) from Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots.
Saturday's broadcast begins at 4:30 p.m. (EST) and also includes coverage of the Davona Dale Stakes (gr. II) and Canadian Turf Stakes (gr. IIIT).
For the fourth consecutive year, HRRN will provide exclusive radio coverage of the May 3 Derby.
"The Kentucky Derby is the greatest two minutes in sports, but there is more to the Derby than just the first Saturday in May," said Mike Penna, president of HRRN. "The prep races showcased in the Championship Series provide great theater and we are proud to enhance our Derby coverage by bringing the excitement of these races to racing fans around the world."
Listeners can tune in to the broadcasts throughout North America on SiriusXM satellite radio as well as on select terrestrial affiliates and via live streaming provided on the HRRN website. In addition, the streaming can be accessed on mobile phones and tablets by clicking the "Listen Live" button on the HRRN home page.
