Shannon Castagnola has joined John Sykes' Woodford Thoroughbreds as director of client development for the Kentucky and Florida operation.
Castagnola's past experience includes client services and selling syndicated shares for West Point Thoroughbreds and serving as an executive assistant in private sales at Taylor Made Sales Agency.
"Shannon's strength in client relations and her understanding of the differing needs of the breeder, seller, and racehorse owner will be a huge asset to us," Woodford Thoroughbreds general manager Matt Lyons said.
"We are in a position of strength, with an opportunity to grow. We have broodmare bands in both locations and an exciting roster of young stallions in Florida. In addition, the Ocala farm features an expansive training facility with a five-eighths dirt training track and a 1 1/2-mile European turf track. Woodford is also one of the few consignors that represents at all sales, including the 2-year-old sales. Woodford Thoroughbreds is thrilled to have Shannon focus on recruiting business and increasing the use of these different services."
Castagnola said she was excited about the opportunity to join the Woodford Thoroughbreds team.
"This is a group that is knowledgeable, kind, honest, and dedicated to quality," she said. "In addition, we intend on having some fun along the way."
Castagnola is married to Steve Castagnola, a Lexington, Ky. bloodstock agent and owner of Kempton Bloodstock.
