Mining My Own, dam of 2009 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Mine That Bird and 2012 Kentucky Derby third-place finisher and three-time grade I winner Dullahan, gave birth to a bay filly from the first crop of Bodemeister   March 4 at Ben and Elaine Walden's Pauls Mill Farm near Versailles, Ky.

"This filly is nothing short of awesome, just very representative of the quality of foals this mare has had," Ben Walden said in a release. "It is a beautiful mating when you consider that both Mine That Bird and Dullahan hail from the Fappiano sire line, as well as Bodemeister, who I feel has a real chance to be a breed-shaping sire."

Owned by WinStar Farm, Pauls Mill Livestock Co., Bena Halecky, and Phil and Judy Needham, the 13-year-old Smart Strike mare will be bred back to grade I winner Bodemeister, who himself was a runner-up in the Kentucky Derby after setting some of the fastest fractions in the history of the race.
