Two Colts Bring $1.6 Million Each at OBS

Both colts, sold March 11, are full or half siblings to grade I winners.

Within minutes of each other, colts by Giant's Causeway  and Tapit  became the top sellers at $1.6 million apiece during the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co. selected sale of 2-year-olds in training March 11.

The Giant's Causeway colt out of Rebridled Dreams sold in the Northwest Stud consignment to Stonestreet Stables. Seven hips later, the Tapit colt out of Rhumb Line was secured from Eddie Woods' consignment for the same price by Bradley Weisbord for Al Shaqab Racing.

The Giant's Causeway colt is a half brother to grade I winner J. B.'s Thunder, a son of Thunder Gulch who won the 2010 Dixiana Breeders' Futurity (gr. I) at Keeneland. His dam is the stakes-winning Unbridled's Song mare Rebridled Dreams, who was also grade II-placed and is now the dam of four winners from as many starters. The colt's sale represents a nice pinhooking profit for Northwest Stud, which purchased him at the 2013 Keeneland September yearling sale for $550,000 out of the Beau Lane Bloodstock consignment.

The Tapit colt is a full brother to grade I winner Zazu and grade II winner Flashback . He is out of the winning Mr. Greeley mare Rhumb Line, who has produced two other winners from five to race. The gray or roan colt was bred in Kentucky by SF Bloodstock.
