CA Track Usher Laricchia Dies at 90

He had worked since 1947 at Santa Anita Park and Hollywood Park.

Larry Laricchia, who had worked at Santa Anita Park and Hollywood Park since 1947, died March 9 at age 90.

Laricchia, a longtime resident of Covina, Calif., served as an usher and winner's circle attendant at the Southern California tracks until retiring at age 88.

His son, Joseph, started as an usher at Santa Anita before moving to Hollywood and becoming a gate person. Laricchia's wife, Rae, also served as an usher before she retired in 2001.

Laricchia was preceded in death by Rae, who passed away last July at age 87.
