Dual grade I winner Tale of Ekati  was represented by his first winner as a stallion when his juvenile daughter Princesa Gold won the first race at Hipodromo de las Americas in Mexico March 28.

Trained by Simon Kamaji Misrahi for Cuadra Colibri, Princesa Gold won the 4 1/2-furlong maiden event by an easy 6 3/4 lengths. Out of the Malabar Gold mare Gizzy, Princesa Gold was bred in Kentucky by H. Allen Poindexter.

Tale of Ekati, a son of Tale of the Cat Silence Beauty, by Sunday Silence, won the 2008 Wood Memorial Stakes (gr. I) by a half length over 2007 champion juvenile male War Pass and also placed first in that year's Hill 'n' Dale Cigar Mile Handicap (gr. I) via a disqualification. He scored additional victories in the 2007 Futurity Stakes and Jerome Handicap (both gr. II).

Retired from racing after compiling a record of 5-1-0 from 15 starts and earning $1,182,992, Tale of Ekati stands in 2014 for $15,000 at John Phillips' Darby Dan Farm near Lexington.
