Mucho Macho Man Honored in Georgia

May 1 was proclaimed "Mucho Macho Man Day" in Georgia.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal proclaimed Thursday, May 1, as "Mucho Macho Man Day" in the state.

Campaigned by the Suwanee, Ga.-based Reeves Thoroughbreds operation of Dean and Patti Reeves, Mucho Macho Man made history with his game victory in the 2013 Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) as Kathy Ritvo became the first female to trainer a winner of the race.

The horse, who has won or placed in 20 of 25 starts and earned $5,625,410, will retire to Frank Stronach's Adena Springs near Paris, Ky., at the conclusion of his racing career.
