Burdine Named Hill 'n' Dale General Manager

Graduate of University of Kentucky has worked at farm for a decade.

Jared Burdine has been named general manager of Hill 'n' Dale Farms in Lexington.

Burdine is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in accounting.

"Jared is a quality individual who started out with us in 2004 as an intern while attending the University of Kentucky," said John G. Sikura, president of Hill 'n' Dale Farms. "He has worked his way up from within our organization and has learned the inner workings of the farm from the ground up. His dedication, attention to detail, tireless work ethic, and concern for our customers and their horses make him ideally suited for the position to which he has been promoted."

"When you're a baseball player, you want to be playing for the Yankees," Burdine said. "I will never cease to marvel at Hill 'n' Dale and its horses. It is gratifying to walk around the courtyard at the stallion complex and see the likes of a Stormy Atlantic  or a Midnight Lute  or any of the emerging stars in our roster.

"To see a horse like Midnight Lucky win a grade I by daylight on Derby Day is what makes you want to come in early and leave late. When Broodmare of the Year Better Than Honour set a world record selling for $14 million, I was so proud to be a part of this organization. By constantly raising the bar, Hill 'n' Dale achieves a new milestone every year. I am humbled by my promotion to general manager at this very special place."
