Lookin At Lucky's First Winner at Gulfstream

Two-time champion stands for $15,000 at Ashford Stud in Versailles, Ky.

With a front-running victory in a maiden special weight race May 16 at Gulfstream Park, filly Lucky'stormwarning became the first winner for her sire, Lookin At Lucky  (VIDEO).

Champion male as both a 2-year-old and a 3-year-old, Lookin At Lucky stands for $15,000 at Coolmore’s Ashford Stud in Versailles, Ky. Lucky’stormwarning is the second starter for Lookin At Lucky, who won the 2010 Preakness Stakes (gr. I).

Campaigned by owners associated with CoolmoreSusan Magnier, Michael Tabor, and Derrick Smith Lucky’stormwarning opened a clear lead through a quarter-mile in :22.07 and drew off in the stretch to score a 2 3/4-length victory in Friday’s third race. Lucky’stormwarning completed the 4 1/2-furlong test in :51.42 on a track rated as good.

Bred in Florida by Deborah Brozio, the winning filly is trained by Wesley Ward. ockey Manoel Cruz guided her to victory. Lucky'stormwarning is out of the Tactical Advantage mare Happybirthdaygirl.
