Trainer Tony Dutrow will be the judge for the 80th Maryland Horse Breeders Association's annual event for Maryland-bred yearlings in Timonium June 29.
The MHBA show is open to all yearlings eligible for Maryland-bred registration and will be held in horse show ring at the Maryland State Fairgrounds.  Some of the well-known graduates of the show include Hall of Fame and Eclipse Award-winning Safely Kept, Eclipse Award-winning juveniles Smart Angle and Declan's Moon, in addition to the millionaires Urbane and Cherokee's Boy.
Dutrow was born in Hagerstown, Md., and grew up working with his father, Richard E. Dutrow Sr., both on the farm and at the track. He also served as an assistant to Hall of Fame trainer Bobby Frankel in California before going out on his own in 1987. Since then he has trained a number of multiple graded stakes winners such as Grace Hall, So Many Ways, Rightly So, and Seattle Smooth. His many successes include managing the early career of eventual Horse of the Year Havre de Grace.
