Central Kentucky nursery Millennium Farms announced June 18 it will begin consigning sales horses under the Millennium Farms Sales banner. The farm, owned by Ro Parra, is home to grade I winners Swagger Jack, Even the Score , Giant Oak, and Student Council.
"In recent years, we have been re-imagining our vision at Millennium Farms, exploring various initiatives to improve our customer experience," said Millennium Farms business manager Jay Ted Neel. "One of those initiatives was with Vinery by way of a one-year contractual arrangement which has recently expired."
"The Millennium Farms/Vinery deal made sense in that it was a vehicle to expand our reach and grow our quality customer roster," Parra said. "My business experience has taught me to be in a constant search for a better way. Vinery built a wonderful business, and we were the benefactors of their successful efforts."
Parra added that Derek Mackenzie, who headed up the Vinery consignment, did a stellar job for Millennium's customers.
"We wish him nothing but the best as he moves on to define the next chapter of his promising career," Parra said.
