Belmont to Offer Low-Roller Player Tourney

Participants at New York track Saturday can play for a $40 entry fee.

Belmont Park will host its first ever live-money tournament Saturday, July 12, when track patrons will be able to play for a $40 entry fee.

Of the $40 fee, $10 goes to the prize poolwith 70% to be awarded to the first-place finisher, 20% to second, and 10% to thirdand the remaining $30 will comprise the entrant's bankroll.

Participants must select five races from a 10-race card at Belmont, featuring the $200,000 Bowling Green Handicap (gr. IIT), on which to place live $2 win, place, and show wagers. The bets must be placed on five different horses in five different races. Only Belmont races will be accepted for contest play.

Sign-up will be on the first floor of the grandstand Saturday. There is a guaranteed prize pool of $500.
