Equine Sales Yearling Sale Catalog Online

Eskendereya colt topped last year's inaugural yearling sale in Louisiana.

The catalog for Equine Sales Company's select yearling sale is now available online with the 233 head representing a significant increase over the 174 cataloged for the inaugural yearling sale in 2013.

The Sept. 3 sale will be begin at 10 a.m. CDT in Opelousas, La.  

At last year's sale, topped by an Eskendereya colt sold for $140,000, 132 head were reported sold for a gross of $1,714,300, an average of $12,987, and an RNA rate of 18%.
Equine Sales Company held its first auction in 2012 with a combined open and select yearling sale. A 2-year-olds in training sale was added to the schedule this year, and the company has an open yearling and mixed sale scheduled for Oct. 26.

"The 34% increase in catalog size shows that consignors were pleased with the results last year, and we think buyers will be impressed with the quality of this year's catalog," said Foster Bridewell, sales director for Equine Sales Company. "We have progeny of more than 100 stallions in the sale with a good mix of top Kentucky stallions and a long list of leading Louisiana stallions."
