First Winner for Sire Concord Point

Sizzling Quatorze wins by 7 3/4 lengths first time out July 31 at Delaware Park.

Sizzling Quatorze, a 7 3/4-length winner first time out July 31 at Delaware Park, is the first reported for his freshman sire Concord Point.

Concord Point (Tapit Harve de Grace, by Boston Harbor) stands at John Sikura's Hill 'n' Dale Farms near Lexington. The West Virginia Derby (gr. II) and Iowa Derby (gr. III) winner stood the 2014 season for $7,500 live foal.

Sizzling Quatorze won the $20,000 maiden claiming event for King Star and trainer Juan C. Vazquez. The bay colt, bred in Kentucky by Ernest C. Frohboese, covered six furlongs in 1:11.37.

Consigned to the 2013 Keeneland September yearling sale by Romans Racing & Sales, agent, Sizzling Quatorze was sold to Jason Hall, agent, for $32,000. King Star and Juan Vazquez purchased Sizzling Quatorze earlier this year from Off the Hook, agent, for $10,000 at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co.'s April sale of 2-year-olds.

Last year, Concord Point was represented by the $250,000 sale topper at the OBS August yearling auction.
