471 Cataloged in Book 1 of Tattersalls Sale

There are 471 horses cataloged in the elite Book 1 of the Tattersalls October yearling sale, set for Oct. 7-9 at Park Paddocks in Newmarket, England.

All the horses cataloged in Book 1 are eligible for the 2015/2016 Tattersalls Millions, which comprises five races worth £1.3 million.
Included in the flagship Tattersalls sale are full or half siblings to 42 group I and classic winners and more than 232 group/listed winners. 
Among the siblings to classic and group I winners are half brothers to British, Irish, and French classic winners Attraction, Elusive Wave, Latice, Lawman, Leading Light, and Power, as well as  half sisters to Blue Bunting, Dancing Rain, Motivator, Pour Moi, and Speciosa. Also among the half brothers and sisters to group I winners are half brothers to top 2014 performers Gallante, Integral, and Prince Bishop, and a half sister to outstanding sprinter Sole Power.
Twenty-six broodmares who have won group I races and classics also have yearlings cataloged including proven group and listed producers Attraction, Chorist, Echelon, Elle Danzig, Field of Hope, Kinnaird, Pearly Shells, Rebelline, Zanzibar, and Zee Zee Top.
All of the current top 20 active sires standing in Britain and Ireland are well represented with half brothers Galileo and Sea the Stars leading the way with 64 yearlings cataloged between them. 
Sea The Stars, who currently boasts the highest-rated 3-year-old colt and filly in Europe, has 35 yearlings catalogued, while his superstar older half brother, Galileo, has 29. 
Next in line among the top 20 active sires are New Approach with 28, Oasis Dream with 25, Acclamation, 19; Iffraaj, 18; Invincible Spirit, 17; Pivotal and Exceed And Excel with 16 apiece, Shamardal, 15; and Dubawi, 13. 
In total the top 20 active sires have more than 300 yearlings cataloged between them with the current top 10 accounting for 185 yearlings. The deceased sire Montjeu also is represented by four colts and two fillies from his final crop.
The nine first-crop yearling sires represented are all classic or group I winners with 10 yearlings by champion sprinter Dream Ahead, eight by Poet's Voice and Pour Moi, and seven by champion miler Canford Cliffs.
United States sires with offspring cataloged include Arch, Elusive Quality  , Eskendereya, Exchange Rate, Giant's Causeway  , Hat Trick  , Kitten's Joy  , Lemon Drop Kid, Speightstown  , Stormy Atlantic  , Street Cry, and War Front  . Other foreign sires represented include the deceased Monsun as well as France-based Motivator.
As last year, the largest consignments from Britain and Ireland come from Highclere Stud and The Castlebridge Consignment with 35 and 30 yearlings, respectively. Lodge Park Stud, which sold last year's 5 million guineas sale topper, has a band of three colts by Galileo, New Approach and Dream Ahead and a filly by Sea The Stars, while Newsells Park Stud has 19 yearlings consisting of 11 colts and eight fillies.
