Delahoussaye to Miss Remainder of Del Mar Meet

Hall of Fame rider Eddie Delahoussaye, injured Friday in a one-horse spill, will not be riding for the rest of the Del Mar meeting.

The meet closes on Sept. 11.

The rider's agent, Ray Kravagna, reported this morning that Delahoussaye was sore but otherwise okay.

"We just want to take the rest of the time off and let Eddie heal up," Kravagna said. "He'll be back riding at Oak Tree."

Delahoussaye was in the midst of one of his best meets in recent years, having booted home 19 winners. He scored in five stakes races, including the Ramona (gr. I) with Affluent, the San Diego Handicap (gr. II) with Grey Memo, and the La Jolla Handicap (gr. III) with Inesperado.
