The catalog for the 2014 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic fall yearling sale is now online and may be viewed here.
The one-day sale slated for Sept. 29 in Timonium, Md., will have a book of 450 yearlings. The figure marks an increase of 14.5% more yearlings than 2013.
Last year 289 yearlings were sold at the sale for $7,469,900; good for an average of $25,847 and median of $17,000. The sale-topper, a colt by Quality Road , sold for $250,000.
"We had a very successful sale last year, and our consignors have responded with increased numbers in 2014," said Paget Bennett, Fasig-Tipton Midlantic's sales director. "The catalog features excellent sire power, and includes a large number of Maryland-bred, New York-bred, and Pennsylvania-bred yearlings, offering buyers the opportunity to take advantage of a number of strong regional programs in the Midlantic area.
"Additionally, Midlantic fall yearling grads have already accounted for 16 stakes wins in 2014 from coast-to-coast," Bennett said. "It's a great place to find a good horse."
The sale is set to begin at 10 a.m. EDT at the Maryland State Fair Grounds.
