Champion Benny the Bull to Bridlewood in 2015

Champion sprinter of 2008 represented by a grade I winner in Puerto Rico.

Champion sprinter Benny the Bull  will stand the 2015 breeding season at John and Leslie Malone's Bridlewood Farm, in Ocala, Fla., according to an announcement made by owner Greg James. His fee has not yet been determined.

A $2.3-million earner who was undefeated during his championship season of 2008, Benny the Bull previously stood at Winding Oaks Farm while also shuttling to Brazil each of the last three years. The 11-year-old son of Lucky Lionel is expected at Bridlewood before the end of December upon his return from Brazil.

"We are pleased to offer Benny the Bull to Florida breeders and to have him join our stallion roster for 2015," George Isaacs, general manager of Bridlewood, said in a statement. "He was a champion, and is siring a high percentage of quality winners. I think he presents a real opportunity and value to the savvy, informed breeder."

From his first crop, 3-year-olds of 2014, Benny the Bull has sired 20 winners along with six placed horses from 32 starters, ranking him third among leading second crop sires in Florida by lifetime winners. Benny the Bull is the sire of Joe Pike, a grade I winner in Puerto Rico who has 10 wins and two seconds from 12 starts, as well as Bull Account, grade I-placed in Puerto Rico.
