Pleasantly Perfect to Taylor Made Stallions

Formerly at Lane's End, he is one of the few Breeders' Cup winners to sire BC winner.

Pleasantly Perfect, one of the few Breeders’ Cup winners at stud to sire a Breeders’ Cup winner, will stand the 2015 breeding season at Taylor Made Stallions near Nicholasville, Ky.

A fee will be announced at a later date. The 16-year-old Pleasantly Pefect stood for a $5,000 fee during the 2014 season at Lane's End near Versailles, Ky., where he has been based since his retirement from racing in 2004.

Pleasantly Perfect has sired 16 stakes winners including five graded winners and two champions to date, led by millionaire and Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT) winner Shared Account. He’s also sired top-class performers such as Setsuko, a multiple grade I-placed earner of $657,936, and Cozi Rosie, a multiple graded stakes winner and multiple grade I-placed earner of $527,280, among others.

On the racetrack, Pleasantly Perfect captured several grade I races, including two of the world’s richest and most prestigious races on dirt: the Breeders’ Cup Classic and the Dubai World Cup. His Breeders’ Cup Classic victory over Medaglia d'Oro  was the third fastest Classic since 2000, and his Dubai World Cup win over Medaglia d'Oro  was the fourth fastest since 2000.

Pleasantly Perfect raced for Diamond A Racing and Hall of Fame trainer Richard Mandella. He retired to stud as Pleasant Colony’s most accomplished performer with career earnings of $7,789,880, ranking him sixth on the all-time earnings list in North America.
