Stakes Producer Dance Lessons Dies

Dam of six-time stakes winner Paso Doble died at Fred Pace's farm in Kentucky at 15.

Stakes-producing dam Dance Lessons died Sept. 28 of natural causes at owner Fred Pace's farm in Trapp, Ky. She was 15.

Dance Lessons was the dam of seven foals, five to race and four winners, with progeny earnings of $1,052,605. She produced multiple graded stakes-placed Paso Doble, a six-time stakes winner at Woodbine with earnings of $961,910.

Bred in Florida by Red Oak Farm, the daughter of Foxhound out of the Woodman mare Willow Woodman was a half sister to three stakes winners. They include Willow O Wisp, a multiple graded stakes winner who set a course record in the Del Mar Derby (gr. IIT) in 2005 and retired with earnings of $718,204; and Will O Way, a multiple stakes winner who ran third in Del Mar Debutante (gr. I) and retired with $210,500 in earnings.
