Karen and Mickey Taylor announced on Thursday plans for a complete dispersal of their Thoroughbred holdings, beginning this fall at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale.

The announcement comes six months after the death of 1977 Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew, who raced for a partnership of the Taylors and Dr. Jim and Sally Hill. Mickey Taylor managed the stallion career of the son of Bold Reasoning at the time of his death on May 7.

The dispersal, expected to occur over a two-year period, will include mares, yearlings, foals, and horses of racing age and is being handled by Eaton Sales. Some of the horses are owned in conjunction with longtime partner Albert Finney.

Four foals by Seattle Slew will be included in the first phase of the dispersal in November, according to Tom VanMeter of Eaton. Approximately 10 mares, an additional foal, one yearling, and several horses of racing age also are scheduled for the Keeneland November sale.
