Cape Blanco to Stand in Japan in 2015

Stallion was based at Coolmore's Ashford Stud in Kentucky since 2012.

Cape Blanco, the multiple grade I winner that stood at Coolmore's Ashford Stud in Kentucky this year, will relocate to Hokkaido, Japan, in 2015, the Japan Bloodhorse Breeders' Association announced recently.

Cape Blanco, by Galileo out of the Presidium mare Laurel Delight, began standing at Ashford in 2012 and also shuttled to Cambridge Stud in New Zealand. 

When racing in the U.S., Cape Blanco won three grade I turf stakes in 2011: the Arlington Million, Man o' War Stakes, and Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational for owners Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith, Fitriani Hay, and Susan Magnier. The winner of the 2010 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby (Ire-I) retired after the 2011 season with more than $3.8 million in earnings.
