A selection of interesting catalog pages for Keeneland January's second session.

Keeneland's four-day horses of all ages sale features a wide range of horses with interesting pedigrees and performance records that factor in a buyer's decision to bid. Following is a selection of horses selling at the January sale's second session Jan. 13 who sport interesting catalog pages.

Hip 422: The Mill Ridge Sales agency offers this yearling colt by 2014's leading freshman sire, Quality Road . The March 10 foal is out of the winning Cox's Ridge mare Pert Lady, making him a half brother to multiple graded winner and grade I-placed Zavata.

Hip 424: Pianosa, by Bernardini, is a three-quarters sister to grade I winner A. P. Adventure and to stakes winner Platinum. Now 5 and awaiting sale in Padraig Campion's Blandford Stud consignment, she is carrying her first foal, by Medaglia d'Oro .

Hip 443: The Lane's End agency's yearling Super Saver  filly, foaled last March 21, is out of grade I-placed Reforestation. The dam's only other foal, a 3-year-old full sister to the yearling named My Super Nova, is stakes-placed in New York.

Hip 445: This March 29 yearling by Mr. Prospector's son Greatness  is a half sister to grade I winner Egg Drop. Her dam, Rehocracy, is a full sister to multiple stakes winner and graded-placed Redoubled Miss. Sheltowee Sales, agent, consigns.

Hip 459: Millennium Farms, as agent, fields the 8-year-old stakes winner Rules R Rules in foal to Violence . By Peace Rules, she's a half sister to grade I winner Acey Deucey, who also produced stakes winner Preachintothedevil.

Hip 486: The Hermitage Farm agency's multiple stakes-placed Soft Whisper earned $316,053. The 6-year-old is by Bernstein and out of the Unbridled's Song mare Unbridled Mistress, a full sister to stakes winner Uninhibited Song and a half sister to graded winner Twilight Time, among other stakes performers and stakes producers.

Hip 508: This April 28 yearling filly is a half sister to grade I-winning millionaire Rail Trip. She's by Giant's Causeway. This is also the family of 2013 Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner Palace Malice . The Eaton Sales agency consigns.

Hip 518: Ten Halos, now 12, has a recent graded winner to her credit as the dam of grade III winner Cinco Charlie . And he has won two more stakes since the catalog's publication. Ten Halos is carrying a foal by Liaison , and that foal will be a three-quarters sibling to Cinco Charlie. Mulholland Springs is the consignor.

Hip 527: The Paramount agency's 5-year-old mare Topic ran third in the 2013 American Oaks (gr. IT), and she won that year's CTT and Thoroughbred Owners of California Handicap on grass. Cataloged by Paramount Sales agency as a racing or broodmare prospect, she's out of a half sister to 2005 champion 3-year-old Afleet Alex  and to graded winner Unforgettable Max.

Hip 537: Galileo's daughter Up is a two-time group winner and French classic-placed runner. The 6-year-old is carrying a foal by the enormously popular Danzig stallion War Front , and she's also a half sister to dual group I winner Dutch Art. Up is in the Four Star Sales consignment, and her War Front yearling filly, born last March 13, follows her through the ring as Hip 538.


Hip 548: The Gainesway agency's Wildcat Marie is a grade III winner with $292,035 in earnings. The 8-year-old Wildcat Heir mare currently is in foal to To Honor and Serve after producing colts by Philanthropist and To Honor and Serve in 2013 and 2014, respectively.

Hip 550: Wild Hope, an 8-year-old mare, won two restricted stakes and six other races in a 40-start career that saw her earn $492,916. The Illinois-bred mare is now consigned as a broodmare prospect by Gary and Beth Ledert (Crowning Point Farm, agent). She is out of the winning Wild Rush mare Wild About Rachel.

Hip 553: Winning Image is a 10-time stakes winner with more than $750,237; she finished second in the Garland of Roses Stakes since the catalog's printing. The Four Star Sales agency consigns Winning Image, a daughter of Southern Image and the stakes winner Harvest Girl, as a broodmare prospect, bringing her racing career to an end after 34 lifetime starts.

Hip 564: Ziptomylu is a winning daughter of City Zip and the stakes-placed Devil's Bag mare Abba Gold, making her a half sister to dual graded winner and grade I-placed Kathmanblu. This is also the family of grade I winner Friendly Michelle. Brookdale Sales consigns Ziptomylu on behalf of Five-D Thoroughbreds.

Hip 570: Aint She a Saint earned $497,381 in a racing career that saw her take four restricted stakes in her native Indiana on both turf and dirt. Now 6, she is part of James Keogh's Grovendale consignment and is on offer as a broodmare prospect. The daughter of Saintly Look also is a full sister to stakes winner Needmore Cash.

Hip 609: Grade III winner (and twice graded-placed) Carolyn's Cat comes into the auction with $307,415 in lifetime earnings and carrying a Blame  foal. She's by Forestry and out of the graded winner People's Princess, by Meadowlake, who is herself a full sister to grade I-placed North Lake Jane and graded winner Meadow Flight. Lisa and Tim Turney, agents, consign.

Hip 612: The Mulholland Springs agency's Cautionary Tale is a winning half sister to My Miss Storm Cat, who has produced 2011 champion juvenile filly My Miss Aurelia and stakes-placed Albergatti. She's also a half sister to grade II winner Soul Warrior. She's produced a pair of Smart Strike fillies to date and currently is in foal to Midnight Lute .

Hip 627: Gainesway's agency consigns Courtizanna, a Tiznow  half sister to graded winner and grade I-placed Coup de Grace. An unraced 3-year-old, she's consigned as a racing or broodmare prospect. Her dam, the grade III-placed Storm Cat matron Home Court, is a daughter of 1996 champion older mare Jewel Princess.

Hip 758: French-bred Little Journey was third in Room Service's American Oaks (gr. IT) last year and has placed in two other stakes on the grass, one in France and one at Churchill Downs. She's by Great Journey, by Sunday Silence, and is out of the Linamix mare Litlina. Hidden Brook, as agent, has cataloged her as a racing or broodmare prospect.

Hip 781: Midway Holiday, by the late Harlan's Holiday, is a grade III-placed 8-year-old. A daughter of the Buckfinder mare Gatap, she's a full sister to stakes-placed Midway Holiday. She's also a half sister to stakes winner and producer Jenny's Prospector and to Afternoon Trick, the dam of graded performer Trickmeister. Bluegrass Thoroughbred Services offers her in foal to Take Charge Indy.

Hip 783: The Paramount Sales agency's yearling Tale of Ekati  filly is a half sister to 2000 Kentucky Derby (gr. I) and Preakness Stakes (gr. I) third Impeachment and to graded-placed stakes producer Cat Charmer. This is the family of champions Gold Beauty, Sky Beauty, and Dayjur, among other notable runners and producers.

Hip 788: Miss Serendipity was a grade I winner in Argentina before coming to the U.S. last year and winning the Gamely Stakes (gr. IT) and the Yellow Ribbon Handicap (gr. IIT); she also finished second in the Santa Ana Stakes (gr. IIT). An earner of $493,858, the 7-year-old Not For Sale mare is in Gainesway's consignment as a broodmare prospect.
