Churchill to Stream Derby, Oaks Workouts Live

In special 15-minute workout session exclusive to Derby and Oaks contenders.

Churchill Downs, in conjunction with TwinSpires.com, will provide live online streaming of workouts for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) and Longines Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) beginning April 18.
The exclusive 8:30-8:45 a.m. ET training window begins Saturday, and the live stream presented by TwinSpires.com will be available here.
The special 15-minute session is exclusive to Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks contenders and any workmates. Specially made Derby and Oaks saddle towels must be worn by workers to gain access to the racetrack during that window. Training hours at Churchill Downs will be 5:45-10 a.m. daily through April 30 with an 8-8:30 a.m. break to renovate the racetrack.
Five of the top 20 horses on the "Road to the Kentucky Derby" leaderboard are on the grounds at Churchill Downs: American Pharoah  (trained by Bob Baffert, stabled in Barn 33); Far Right (Ron Moquett, Barn 10A); Danzig Moon (Mark Casse, Barn 36); War Story (Tom Amoss, Barn 29); and Mr. Z  (D. Wayne Lukas, Barn 44). Two others—Keen Ice  (Dale Romans, Barn 4) and Bold Conquest (Steve Asmussen, Barn 38)—hope to get in the race if there are any defections.
Ken and Sarah Ramsey's International Star (trained by Mike Maker), the points leader who swept the Lecomte (gr. III), Risen Star (gr. II), and Louisiana Derby (gr. II) at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, is expected to van from his base at Churchill Downs' Trackside Training Center for a breeze Saturday. John Oxley's Danzig Moon, runner-up to Carpe Diem  in the Toyota Blue Grass (gr. I), will breeze five furlongs, according to assistant trainer Norman Casse. Both are expected on the track at 8:30 a.m.

Six of the top 14 fillies on the "Road to the Kentucky Oaks" leaderboard are stabled at Churchill: Birdatthewire (Romans, Barn 4), Oceanwave (Wayne Catalano, Barn 30), Maybellene (Baffert, Barn 33), Puca (Bill Mott, Barn 19), Shook Up (Steve Asmussen (Barn 38) and Luminance (Baffert, Barn 33). Forever Unbridled (Dallas Stewart, Barn 48) is next in line to gain entry into the field if there are any defections.
