TVG will present live reports from next week's Fasig-Tipton Saratoga yearling sale. TVG will air live updates from the Saratoga sale on Aug. 6-8 beginning at 7:30 p.m. (ET) each night. Reporter Jeff Lifson will provide live reports from the sale...The July 27 Martha Washington Stakes, downgraded from grade III to ungraded after being taken off the turf, has been reviewed by the American Graded Stakes Committee and will remain ungraded...Blythe Miller, steeplechase racing's active leading rider, was taken to Saratoga Hospital today after her mount fell in the first race at Saratoga Race Course. Miller, who will be 34 on August 7th, was knocked unconscious and suffered a cut lip when her mount, Capeless, fell while trying to clear the last fence in the 2 1/16th-mile race. Miller re-gained consciousness and complained of neck pain. CAT scans proved negative. Miller was expected to be admitted to Saratoga Hospital for overnight observation. Miller was champion jockey in 1994 and 1995 and is a three-time winner of Saratoga's Grade 1 New York Turf Writers Cup. She entered this year with 192 career victories to place seventh on the all-time list...The public is invited to attend the National Museum of Racing's annual Hall of Fame Ceremony, held on Monday, August 5th at the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion. Members of the Hall of Fame Class of 2002 include trainer Grover (Bud) Delp, jockey Jack Westrope, and Thoroughbred champions Cigar, Serena's Song, and Noor. The induction ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Sales Pavilion, located on East Avenue. Admission to the event is free. Popular ESPN and NBC racing broadcaster Charlsie Cantey will be the keynote speaker. Festivities on the day will celebrate and honor the career achievements of the new inductees, as returning Hall of Famers such as jockeys Jerry Bailey, Pat Day, Braulio Baeza, Frank D. Adams, Ron Turcotte, steeplechase jockeys Jerry Fishback and F.D. "Dooley" Adams, and trainers Allen Jerkens, Bill Mott, John Nerud, P.G. Johnson, Tommy Kelly, Scotty Schulhofer, Jonathan Sheppard, and D. Wayne Lukas will be in attendance. Starting at 2:30 p.m., racing fans will be given the opportunity to meet returning members of the Hall of Fame for a free autograph session held at the Saratoga Race Course in front of the Silk's Display Area of the Jockey's Room...Jockey Ray Sibille, involved in a spill on last Wednesday's program, will now be forced to take some time off. Although the veteran Louisiana native rode the rest of the week, Sibille, who has more than 4,000 career wins, has been diagnosed with a cracked rib and is expected to be out of action for at least a week and possibly longer. Sibille tried to work horses Monday morning here but had to suspend his activity during Monday training hours. He was originally scheduled for four mounts Wednesday...The Young Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago, in partnership with Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, will present Irish Fest at Arlington Park this Saturday from noon to 5:30 p.m. Mercy Home for Boys and Girls is a 114-year-old not-for-profit residential care facility in Chicago's West Loop and Beverly neighborhood caring for hurting and troubled children 11 to 19.A $25 ticket donation includes admission, Irish entertainment, wine, beer, soda and Celtic Food Menu, provided by O'Brien's Restaurant & Bar. Children's entertainment, including face painting, is available for the youngsters, and no donation is expected from those under 12.
