City Zip (outside) and Yonaguska (on the rail) battle to a dead heat in the Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga. Macho Uno, center, was third.
City Zip will attempt to win his fifth straight race when he faces eight rivals in Sunday's $200,000 Futurity Stakes (gr. I) at Belmont Park. The 2-year-old finished in a dead heat for first with Yonaguska in the Hopeful in his most recent start to complete a sweep of the three major juvenile stakes at Saratoga. Prior to those three wins, he won the Tremont Stakes (gr. III) at Belmont Park after finishing third in the Flash Stakes.

The Futurity will be City Zip's second start in 15 days, and the son of Carson City stretches out to a one-mile race for the first time. City Zip suffered his most recent defeat in the Flash Stakes 10 days after placing second in the Kentucky Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. III).

"He's been training so well that it would be impossible not to run him in the Futurity," said assistant trainer Orlando Emmerlo. "We're not all that worried he's running on two weeks rest. City Zip thrives on racing."

The field for the Futurity will consist of:

1--Burning Roma, Rick Wilson
2--Shooter, Shane Sellers
3--Scorpion, Jerry Bailey
4--Account for Me, John Velazquez
5--Ommadon, Mike Smith
6--Free of Love, Richard Migliore
7--City Zip, Jose Santos
8--Hero's Tribute, Jorge Chavez
9--Unbridled Time, Pat Day
All starters will carry 122 pounds
