Speighter Man to All Star in Louisiana

Son of Speightstown to stand at Jack Herbert's All Star Thoroughbreds.

Eugene and Ella Mae Chisum's Speighter Man will enter stud in 2016 at Jack Hebert's All Star Thoroughbreds near Sulpher, La. His fee will be $2,000.

Bred by WinStar Farm, 7-year-old Speighter Man is a son of top sire Speightstown , champion sprinter of 2004 and sire of 71 stakes winners. Speightstown's Rock Fall won the Aug. 1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Stakes (gr. I) at Saratoga. Speightstown (Gone West--Silken Cat, by Storm Cat) is quickly becoming a sire of sires, as he is represented by up-and-comers Country Day , Haynesfield , Jersey Town , Munnings , and Poseidon's Warrior , to name a few.

Speighter Man a three-time winner from 20 starts, is out of Sweet Damsel, by Turkoman, and is a half brother to Colonel John (by Tiznow ). Winner of the Travers Stakes and Santa Anita Derby (both gr. I), Colonel John is among the leading juvenile sires of 2015 and is the sire of 2013 grade II winner Concave.
