Adoration and favored Saint Bernadette dueled for the lead around the second turn before Adoration gained a short lead in the stretch and held on to win Saturday's $266,800 Hollywood Breeders' Cup Oaks (gr. II) by a length at Hollywood Park. Under Garrett Gomez, the 3-year-old daughter of Honor Grades completed the 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.73 on a fast track to earn her second straight graded stakes win.

Sister Girl Blues closed late and edged Saint Bernadette by a nose for second. Ladylore, Respectful, Ile de France, and Runaway Pro completed the order of finish.

Amerman Racing Stables' Adoration earned $160,080 for the win, her third in six career starts, all this year. She began her career in February, finishing fifth in a race won by Saint Bernadette. She won for the first time in her next start before taking on You and Habibti in the Santa Anita Oaks (gr. I), finishing eighth. After a runner-up performance in an optional claiming race, the David Hofmans trainee won the Senorita Stakes (gr. III) at Hollywood Park in May. Lucy G. Bassett bred Adoration in Kentucky.

Sent off as the third choice at just over 3-1, Adoration returned $8.20, $5, and $3. Sister Girl Blues paid $22.60 and $5.80 and completed the $1 exacta worth $109.30. Saint Bernadette paid $2.80. (Chart, Equibase)
