No Inflation rapidly increased his earnings with an easy, front-running score in the Sept. 5 Kent Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Delaware Park and in the process snapped a six-race losing streak.

The 3-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Repriced notched his first black-type score and his third overall win from 11 starts for owner/breeder Leonard LavinÕs Glen Hill Farm near Ocala.

With jockey Rosemary Homeister Jr. aboard, No Inflation won the $250,000 Kent by 61Ú4 lengths and pushed his career earnings to $319,803. Trained by Thomas Proctor, he completed the 11Ú8 miles in 1:48.29 over a firm turf course.

Lavin, a resident of Glencoe, Ill., and founder of the beauty care firm Alberto-Culver Co., has bred and raced numerous stakes winners starting in the late 1960s.

One of the early ones was the top filly Convenience, who won a celebrated $250,000 match race by a head over Typecast at Hollywood Park in 1972.

Another one of the best-remembered horses to carry the Glen Hill silks to victory is Relaunch. After a distinguished racing career, Relaunch went on to become a prominent sire, and has sired numerous stakes winners campaigned by Lavin, including One Dreamer, who upset the 1994 BreedersÕ Cup Distaff (gr. I) at 47-1.

Lavin, who contributed to numerous Chicago charities and funded a study of jockey injuries through the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, is represented by other graded stakes-winning homebreds Closeout, Concept Win, Openstock, Rich in Spirit, Split Run, Star of the Crop, and Top Rung.

Lavin bred No InflationÕs unraced dam Free to Soar (by Unbridled), who is a daughter of the winning Forty Niner mare Creative Image. Lavin purchased Creative Image for $100,000 at the 1992 Keeneland July yearling sale from Eaton-Williams, agent.

Creative Image is a half-sister to grade I winner Jade Hunter (by Mr. Prospector), and her stakes-winning dam, Jadana (by Pharly), is a half-sister to English and Irish champion Monteverdi (by Lyphard).

No Inflation is the first live foal out of Free to Soar, who has had a troubled produce record since becoming a broodmare in 2003. Barren to the cover of Repriced in 2009, she has been bred to Milwaukee Brew for 2010.

Repriced is the sire of 15 stakes winners, including other 2009 added-money winners Closeout (gr. IIIT) and Mamoose. Repriced stood the 2009 season for a private fee at John PhillipsÕ Darby Dan Farm near Lexington.ÑE.M.
