Trained by Larry Jones, Old Fashioned is now three-for-three in his career. After breaking his maiden at first asking in October, the gray/roan colt destroyed an allowance field at Delaware Park Nov. 3 by 151Ú2 lengths.

Rick PorterÕs Fox Hill Farms campaigns Old Fashioned, who was purchased for $800,000 at the 2007 Keeneland September yearling sale from Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent. The colt was bought by Tom McGreevey, a full-time employee of Fox Hill who has also picked grade I winner Round Pond, grade II winner Rockport Harbor, and grade III winner Zonk for Porter. Round PondÕs biggest win came in the 2006 Emirates Airline BreedersÕ Cup Distaff (gr. I).

Rod and Lorraine Rodriguez, who own Cottonwood Creek Ranch near Cottonwood, Calif., bred Old Fashioned in Kentucky out the grade III-winning Meadowlake mare Collect Call. They bought the bay mare after her second start for $250,000 at the 2000 Washington Thoroughbred Breeders AssociationÕs September mixed sale from Narvick International, agent for 505 Farms, the estate of Marshall Naify.

Collect Call became the Rodriguezes first stakes winner. Her biggest victory came in the 2001 Santa Ysabel Stakes (gr. III) and later that year, she ran third in the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I). In 2005, they offered Collect CallÕs first foal, a filly by Fusaichi Pegasus, at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga select yearling sale. She was the first horse they had consigned to an auction, and she sold to Stonestreet Stables for $2 million.
