Giant Gizmo made an enormous move down the backstretch and went on to win the $166,050 Alysheba Stakes (gr. III) over a sloppy track at Churchill Downs May 2.

ÒI didnÕt know if he would like the track or not, but obviously once he got in the clear he took off, and he won nicely,Ó said trainer Bobby Frankel.

The 4-year-old son of GiantÕs Causeway is a homebred for Stronach Stables. Giant Gizmo came off a Feb. 25 allowance-optional claiming win at Santa Anita Park.

ÒIt went great, other than the weather,Ó said Adena adviser Dan Hall.

ÒHe is just such a beautiful animal,Ó continued Hall. ÒBobby is patient with him and has brought him along nicely.

Giant Gizmo was bred in the name of StronachÕs Adena Springs located near Paris, Ky. He is the first foal out of the stakes-winning Hansel mare Golden Antigua.

Golden Antigua, out of Greinette, by Greinton, won the Nicole Stakes in both 2001 and 2002, and finished second in the 2000 Premio Torricola in Italy.

Greinette is a half-sister to multiple grade I winner Mi Selecto, multiple graded stakes winner Bar Dexter, and stakes winner Taibhseach.

Giant Gizmo comes from a strong female family including stakes winners Chasseur Dame, Marva Jean, and Melba Jewel. Also in Giant GizmoÕs family is South African champion Blossoming Fields.

Stronach also teamed with Frankel and jockey Rafael Bejarano to win the Louisville Stakes (gr. II) two races before the Alysheba with Ginger Punch. Last year, Ginger Punch was named champion older female after her victory in the Emirates Airline BreedersÕ Cup Distaff (gr. I).

Ginger Punch is a 5-year-old mare by Awesome Again, out of the Bold Revenue mare Nappelon. She has now won nine of 17 lifetime starts. Her career earnings have reached $2,375,603.

Golden Antigua has a yearling filly by Golden Missile, a 2-year-old colt by Skip Away named Slick Pardoned Me, and delivered a filly by Ghostzapper on Feb. 9.

GiantÕs Causeway is the sire of 44 stakes winners, including other 2008 added-money winners Heatseeker (gr. I), Carriage Trail (gr. III), Niagara Causeway (gr. III), Cowboy Cal (gr. IIIT), Angliana, Giant Moon, Our Giant (SAf-I), Juste Momente (Aust-I), and Causeway Queen (in Australia).
