Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) winner Plum Pretty, coming off an illness that knocked her out of consideration for the Mother Goose Stakes (gr. I) in New York June 25, was entered instead in the $150,000 Hollywood Oaks (gr. II).
Five of the nine 3-year-old fillies entered in the $150,000 Providencia Stakes (gr. IIT) at Santa Anita April 9 are imported from the British Isles. Irish-bred Cambina, in search of her third consecutive win, leads the field.
Jockey Rafael Bejarano was released from Scripps-La Jolla Hospital after suffering only bumps and bruises when he was dislodged from his mount early in the third race at Del Mar Aug. 29.
