From a field of 19 for the Kentucky Derby, the runners now number nine for the Preakness. This year Departing, Titletown Five, and Govenor Charlie opted to forego the Run for the Roses to chase black-eyed Susans instead.

With the forecast calling for a high temperature of 70 degrees and a strong possibility of rain for the Preakness Stakes (gr. I), the Maryland Jockey Club could be hard-pressed to surpass last year's record crowd of 121,309.
