One day after Orb took the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I), it appears only a few of the 18 other horses that ran in the Derby will run back in two weeks in the Preakness Stakes (gr. I).
Florida Derby winner Orb has Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey excited about the May 4 Kentucky Derby--more excited, said McGaughey, than he's ever been. But 19 other 3-year-olds also have their sights on the Derby.
The slight favorite is Goldencents at 5-1. Goldencents is trained by last year's Kentucky Derby-winning trainer Doug O'Neill. Also at 5-1 is Revolutionary, who will be ridden by three-time Derby winner Calvin Borel.
