Hidden Dragon Shines in Magic Millions Sale

Singapore trainer Don Baertschiger made his presence felt during the option two section of the Magic Millions national horses in training sale in on the Gold Coast of Australia Oct. 29. He went to Aust$110,000 ($99,840 in U.S. funds) to secure the day's top seller – a 2-year-old Hidden Dragon –Donnatelle colt. A half-brother to group winner Don't Tell Clang, the colt was consigned by Centaur Park Thoroughbreds.

Zero Up (by Danzero), who is in foal to Lion Heart, brought Aust$23,000 (approximately $18,256 in U.S. funds) June 7 to top the non-select session of the Magic Millions national broodmare sale on the Gold Coast of Australia. Magic Millions, acting for a Queensland-based client, purchased Zero Up from Jonel Park Thoroughbreds, agent.

Darley Australia Active at Broodmare Sale

The team from Darley Australia purchased the most expensive horse June 5 during the second session of the Magic Millions broodmare sale on Australia's Gold Coast. John Sunderland signed the Aust$500,000 (approximately $400,905 in U.S. funds) sale ticket for Belcentra, a stakes-winning Bel Esprit mare that is in foal to Exceed and Excel.

Princess Coup Sets Magic Millions Record

New Zealand champion Princess Coup brought a Magic Millions record price of Aust$3 million (approximately $2,453,346 in U.S. funds) June 4 during the opening session of the national broodmare sale on Australia's Gold Coast. New South Wales bloodstock agent Tony Bott was the buyer, outlasting a New Zealand-based group.

NTRA, John Deere Offering Financing, Leases

The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), John Deere, and John Deere Credit (JDC), announced Wednesday low-rate financing as well as lease offers are now available on John Deere tractors. The JDC offer is in addition to the special discounted prices on John Deere tractors offered to NTRA members. These financing options are available to current-year supporters who have directly contributed at least $1,000 to the NTRA, subject to John Deere Credit approval.
