Derek Ryan's Irish Jasper continued a three-race win streak and earned her second grade III in a row July 4, closing with a wide rally and drawing away in the $150,000 Victory Ride Stakes (gr. III) at Belmont Park.
After disappointing finishes in the Acorn Stakes (gr. I), graded stakes winners Miss Ella and Promise Me Silver will look to get back to their winning ways in the $150,000 Victory Ride Stakes (gr. III) July 4 at Belmont Park.
The $750,000 Acorn Stakes (gr. I), for 3-year-old fillies at a mile, drew a well-heeled bunch that includes three unbeaten fillies.
After winning the first two starts of her career, including an easy score in the Adena Springs Beaumont Stakes (gr. II), Miss Ella will try to continue her roll May 15 in the Adena Springs Miss Preakness Stakes (gr. III).
The second weekend in April saw a career high for veteran sire Exchange Rate, as his daughters Ball Dancing and Miss Ella both won graded stakes.
Three Chimneys stallion Exchange Rate gets a pair of graded stakes winners at Keeneland April 11-12 and has a pair of 2-year-olds sell for $350,000 and $190,000 at the Tattersalls breeze-up sale in England.
Jack Swain III's homebred Miss Ella went from debut winner last month to graded stakes winner April 12 with a victory in the $250,000 Adena Springs Beaumont Stakes (gr. II) at Keeneland.
