David Bienstock and Chuck Winner's Flamboyant overtook Gaga A in the stretch and won his second straight grade II turf race in the $200,000 San Marcos Stakes Feb. 6 at Santa Anita Park.
Highland Yard's Walk Close bided her time off the pace in the $100,000 Modesty Handicap (gr. IIIT) and then asserted herself in the stretch to win July 11 at Arlington International Racecourse.
Haras Phillipson's homebred Gaga A impressed in her U.S. debut, so trainer Neil Drysdale has elected to run the 6-year-old T. H. Approval mare in her first graded U.S. race July 11.
