Dust and Diamonds produced a quick return on her purchase at auction in November with an easy victory in the $100,000 Sugar Swirl Stakes (gr. III) at Gulfstream Park Dec. 8.

The Fasig-Tipton November sale, which is known for its prominent cast of selected entries, will again feature several standouts, including this year's Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT) winner Zagora.
Groupie Doll continued her domination of the female sprint division Nov. 3 at Santa Anita Park, inhaling her rivals on the turn to take the $1 million Filly & Mare Sprint (gr. I) under a hand ride from jockey Rajiv Maragh.
Having stunned the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (gr. I) a year ago at odds of 20-1, reigning divisional champion Musical Romance seeks to defend her title in the 2012 edition of the race.
While Groupie Doll's stellar 2012 record puts her in a different league than many of her competitors in the Nov. 3 Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (gr. I), the favorite will still have to face five other grade I winners.
Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert had several Breeders' Cup World Championship contenders on the track Oct. 21 at Santa Anita Park including Game On Dude, early favorite for the $5 million Classic (gr. I).
Dust and Diamonds, getting good at the right time, disposed of better-known rivals Musical Romance and Turbulent Descent with ease in capturing the $200,000 Gallant Bloom Handicap (gr. II) by 1 1/4 lengths at Belmont.
Headed by national female sprint champion Musical Romance and multiple grade I winner Turbulent Descent, the $200,000 Gallant Bloom Handicap (gr. II) Sept. 22 at Belmont Park came up as an exceptionally tough race.
