Still looking to recapture the magic from his performance on the first Saturday in May, Competitive Edge may have found the right spot in the $500,000 NYRA.com King's Bishop Stakes (gr. I) at Saratoga Race Course Aug. 29.
Recent Jim Dandy Stakes (gr. II) winner Texas Red turned in his penultimate breeze Saturday, Aug. 15, ahead of his planned bid in the Travers Stakes (gr. I) Aug. 29 at Saratoga Race Course.

American Pharoah looked every bit like his Triple Crown-winning self Aug. 2, winning the $1.75 million William Hill Haskell Invitational (gr. I) with ease at Monmouth Park.
Assistant trainer Jimmy Barnes said American Pharoah is "on the sharper side" for the Haskell, his first race since his smooth-striding 5 1/2-length Belmont Stakes (gr. I) triumph June 6 at Belmont Park.
Other than an anxious moment while walking to the Monmouth Park paddock for a schooling session, American Pharoah quickly settled down as he prepares for the Aug. 2 William Hill Haskell Invitational Stakes (gr. I).

For his first start since sweeping the Triple Crown, American Pharoah drew post four for the Aug. 2 William Hill Haskell Invitational Stakes (gr. I) to be run Aug. 2 at Monmouth Park.
Monmouth Park officials said July 30 that they reached out to other tracks to try to create a post-Triple Crown three-race series that would have carried a bonus.
Todd Pletcher sent out several of his stable stars for workouts July 26 at Saratoga Race Course, including graded stakes winners Stopchargingmaria, Angela Renee, and Competitive Edge.
With a week remaining until the William Hill Haskell Invitational (gr. I) at Monmouth Park, the field continues to take shape as Top Clearance joins the list horses likely to take on American Pharoah.

A probable field of seven is now expected for the Xpressbet.com Preakness Stakes (gr. I) after Todd Pletcher announced May 12 he will not have an entrant in the May 16 race that is the second leg of racing's Triple Crown.

Trainer Todd Pletcher sent out a trio of classics contenders to breeze on the training track at Palm Beach Downs April 11.
In his first start since capturing the Hopeful Stakes (gr. I) last summer, Competitive Edge rolled to an 8 1/4-length victory in the $60,000 Tamarac Stakes March 27 at Gulfstream Park to stay unbeaten.
Lets Go Stable and WinStar Farm's Daredevil, whose 3-year-old debut in the Feb. 28 Fasig-Tipton Swale Stakes (gr. II) was postponed until March 7 due to heavy rains, returned to the work tab March 2.

WinStar Farm announced 2015 stud fees for most of its 22-stallion roster, which is headed again by leading sire Distorted Humor at $100,000 stands and nurses, and includes a new fee for leading freshman sire Super Saver.
Super Saver's first crop began attracting attention at the 2013 yearling sales. His foals have only improved since then and have now placed the 2010 Kentucky Derby winner at the top of the freshman sire list.
Competitive Edge lived up to his 3-5 odds with a no-doubt-about-it romp in the $350,000 Hopeful Stakes (gr. I) for 2-year-olds on closing day of the Saratoga Race Course summer meet Sept. 1.
