Enterprising and Argyle Cut, separated by a neck when first and second, respectively, in the opening day Oceanside Stakes, battle again as turf racing returns to Del Mar Aug. 9 in the $150,000 La Jolla Handicap (gr. IIIT).
Last at the top of the stretch, favored Enterprising unleashed a torrid closing kick on the far outside to win the $116,700 Oceanside Stakes on the opening day of the 2014 summer meet at Del Mar.
The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club kicks off its 75th season of racing a day later than usual July 17 with a new, wider turf course and plenty of full fields.

Exit Stage Left earned his second stakes victory in as many starts when he came from just off the pace to capture the $75,000 Gold Rush Stakes as the 3-5 pick Dec. 7 at Golden Gate Fields.
