Twenty-nine tracks will auction signed photographs of American Pharoah and Secretariat on Derby Day.
"It's going to be hard," Espinoza said of tackling the Run for the Roses on Whitmore. "But you never know. As long as I have a horse in the race, I always think I can win the Kentucky Derby."
American Pharoah was named Kentucky-bred Horse of the Year, and his dam Littleprincessemma was named Broodmare of the Year. Michael Blowen of Old Friends Farm received a special achievement award for his dedication to Thoroughbred retirement.
The Maryland Jockey Club announced April 20 that Bob Ehalt will receive the David F. Woods Memorial Award for excellence in journalism at the May 19 Alibi Breakfast in the Terrace Dining Room at Pimlico Race Course.
