American Dubai put in his final major work April 2 in preparation for the April 9 running of the $1 million Toyota Blue Grass (gr. I) by working five furlongs in 1:01 2/5 after the renovation break at Keeneland.
In terms of track, distance, and post position, a familiar challenge awaits Suddenbreakingnews in the $900,000 Rebel Stakes (gr. II) March 19 at Oaklawn Park, but following up may be his biggest challenge.

Whitmore worked a bullet half-mile in :48 1/5 Feb. 27, the gelding's first breeze since finishing second in the Feb. 15 Southwest Stakes (gr. III), while Southwest winner Suddenbreakingnews had an easy half in :51 1/5.
The long-range forecast is for Vorticity, runner-up in two graded stakes in New York last month, to run in the $900,000 Rebel Stakes (gr. II) March 19 at Oaklawn, trainer Chuck Lawrence said.
