Da'Tara (6) jumped out to an early lead as the favorite, Big Brown (1), stayed along the rail in the early going.

Da'Tara maintains the lead as the field passes by the clubhouse for the first time.
Around the clubhouse turn it was Da'Tara (6) still holding onto the lead, followed closely by Tale of Ekati (7), Big Brown (1), and Anak Nakal (8).
The field charges down the backstretch.
The top four (Da'Tara, Tale of Ekati, Big Brown and Anak Nakal) continue to separate from the rest of the field on the backstretch as Big Brown heads to the outside.
Around the far turn the leader was still Da'Tara, as the rest of the field played catch up heading for the final stretch.

As the field turned for home, Big Brown (far left) plummetted as Da'Tara opened up on the field.
When it was clear that he had no chance to make the board Big Brown was eased by jockey Kent Desormeaux at the top of the stretch.
