Coming into the top of the stretch Big Brown (left), Recapturetheglory (center), and Cowboy Cal (right) share the lead.
Big Brown then began to make his move into the stretch run.

In the end, Big Brown and jockey Kent Desormeaux were too powerful to be stopped on this day.

Jockey Kent Desormeaux celebrates his third Kentucky Derby victory after crossing the finish line aboard Big Brown.
Eight Belles made an outstanding trip around the track finishing as the runner-up of the 134th Kentucky Derby.
With the win Big Brown became just the seventh unbeaten Derby winner.
