Tuscan Evening (#3) outfought Patricia's Gem to win the Royal Heroine Mile (gr. IIT).
Filly Necessary Evil defeated the boys in the Hollywood Juvenile Championship Stakes (gr. III)
and her stablemate, Repo, took the Landaluce at Hollywood on the same day.
July 11 was Summit of Speed day at Calder. Eaton's Gift took the Smile Sprint Handicap (gr. II) over champion Benny the Bull,

while Game Face was an impressive winner of the Princess Rooney Handicap (gr. I).
Amongst the 3-year olds, Not for Silver took the Carry Back Stakes (gr. II)
and First Passage was a winner in the Azalea Stakes (gr. III).
2-year old filly Dashing Debby made her first start count, winning the J J'sdream Stakes.
And 2-year old colt Jackson Bend took the Frank Gomez Memorial.
In the Bob Umphrey Turf Sprint Championship, Little Nick upset the heavily favored Mr. Nightlinger.
At Arlington Park, it was Million Preview Day. Reb just got up in the American Derby (gr. IIT)

and Just as Well went from last-to-first to take the Arlington Handicap (gr. IIIT).
But the most impressive winner on Preview Day was Pure Clan in the Modesty (gr. IIIT).
Arlington is the next stop for Man o' War (gr. IT) winner Gio Ponti, who is a likely starter for the Arlington Million.
