Seltzer Thoroughbreds' Finest City, the champion female sprinter of 2016, is far from a one-trick mare.
Following a review by the American Graded Stakes Committee, the Buena Vista Stakes that was taken off the turf Feb. 18 at Santa Anita Park will not have its grade 2 status reinstated. It will be recognized as a grade 3 race.
The 5-year-old Indian Charlie mare made short work of a short field in an off-the-turf edition of the $200,000 Buena Vista Stakes (G3T), closing from third and striding away to a 3 1/2-length victory.
Vale Dori continued her dominance of the older female division in Southern California with another her third straight grade 2 score Feb. 11 in the $200,000 Santa Maria Stakes at Santa Anita Park.
In the absence of champions Songbird and Stellar Wind, who are still working toward their 2017 debuts, Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al Maktoum's Vale Dori has been scooping up plenty of cash in the older female division in Southern California.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al Maktoum's Vale Dori will look to secure her second straight grade 2 victory Jan. 14 in the $200,000 La Canada Stakes at Santa Anita Park and she'll encounter familiar challengers.
Constellation won her first start for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer Nov. 12 in the City of Phoenix Stakes at Turf Paradise then took a significant step up Dec. 26 to gamely win the La Brea Stakes (gr. I) at Santa Anita Park.

Only a neck back from her first graded score in the Oct. 14 Buffalo Trace Franklin County Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Keeneland, Stuart S. Janney III's Fair Point left no doubt Nov. 5 in the $100,000 Senator Ken Maddy (gr. IIIT).

Undefeated Sobradora Inc announced her arrival in the U.S Aug. 7 at Del Mar, where she took the Osunitas Stakes, but will take a significant step up against an accomplished group of turf runners Sept. 4 in the $200,000 John C. Mabee Stakes (gr. IIT).
