Lochte, impressive 39-1 winner of the Feb. 9 Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap (gr. IT), will attempt to repeat his success in his first trip to California when he faces nine others in the March 8 Frank E. Kilroe Mile (gr.IT).
Owner/breeder Carlos Vaccarezza got his first win as a trainer Feb. 9 at Gulfstream Park with first-time starter Little Alexis.
Fourteen horses have been entered for the San Marcos Stakes (gr. IIT) on the Santa Anita Park turf Feb. 8, led by recent San Gabriel Stakes (gr. IIT) winner Jeranimo.

He never backed down from a fight, and wherever they entered him, he ran. Wise Dan galloped his way through the most consistent season delivered by a racehorse in 2013 to edge Point of Entry and Magician for Turf Male honors.
A steady campaign placed Wise Dan squarely at the top of the Male Turf Horse category for the Eclipse Awards, an honor he won last season when sweeping Horse of the Year and Older Horse.

Six-time grade/group I winner St Nicholas Abbey died the morning of Jan. 14 due to complications from colic, Coolmore Stud reported.
Eight-year-old warrior Jeranimo became the first horse to win the San Gabriel Stakes (gr. IIT) three times when he cut loose his patented stretch run to score by 1 1/4 lengths Jan. 4 at Santa Anita Park.
Multiple grade I winner Jeranimo is back to defend his title in the $200,000 San Gabriel Stakes (gr. IIT) Jan. 4 on the Santa Anita turf, one of two victories the gallant 8-year-old warrior earned last year.

Five-time grade I winner Point of Entry arrived at Adena Springs Kentucky the morning of Nov. 7 and was settling in well, according to general manager Eric Hamelback.
