The Thoroughbred Breeders' Association of New Jersey has named New Farm homebred Rainbow Heir, a winner of two stakes races last year, the New Jersey-bred Horse of the Year for 2014.
Longtime Mid-Atlantic-based horsewoman Ramona Barney died Sept. 22 at the age of 86. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, New Jersey trainer Ed Barney.
